After all the hype, OnePlus has finally revealed the new OnePlus 3T at $439 (Rs 29, 400) for 64 GB variant and $479( Rs 32,000) for 128 GB variant. Yes, there is a new storage option with the OnePlus 3T. The device will be available in the US starting November 22nd and in Europe it will arrive on November 28th. Unfortunately, there has been no mention of Indian price or availability and the phone hasn’t been listed on the Indian store as well. We hope its sooner than later.
Coming to the specifications, not a lot has changed from OnePlus 3 with the same 5.5 inch 1080 x 1920 Optic-AMOLED display, 6GB RAM, 16 megapixel rear camera, Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Things which has changed is the new Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.35 GHz coupled with the same Adreno 530 GPU. The front camera has seen a huge upgrade with double the resolution this time of 16 megapixel Samsung sensor. Battery has also seen an improvement with a jump from 3000 mAh in OnePlus 3 to 3400 mAh in OnePlus 3T. Also, the Graphite color is gone and is replaced by a new Gunmetal variant apart from the Soft Gold variant. Lastly, the camera lens at the back has got sapphire glass protection now.
Now you must be wondering, what about the 5 month old OnePlus 3? No problems as OnePlus has confirmed that OnePlus 3T is just another variant of OnePlus 3 and both the phones will get simultaneous software updates.
It is quite apparent that OnePlus is trying to give you an alternative if you were thinking to buy Google’s Pixel XL and for almost half the price. In fact, Snapdragon 821 on Pixel XL is clocked at 2.15 GHz instead of 2.35GHz. Guessing the price, the 64 GB variant should be priced around Rs 30,000 while the 128 GB vaiant should be priced around Rs 33,000 which makes it an attractive deal if you were planning to buy the OnePlus 3.
