Yesterday, OnePlus India confirmed that the company will launch the OnePlus 3T in India on December 2nd, 2016. Vikas Agarwal, OnePlus India’s General Manager finally revealed the launch date of the improved version of OnePlus 3. For some strange reason, some people said that Oneplus # buyers would feel let down by this quick upgrade. They needn’t worry, for now. The company has confirmed that in India both phones would sell for now, and with the OnePlus 3T likely to go at a premium thanks to its improved camera, we really don’t see why existing OnePlus 3 users should feel any buyers remorse.
A spokesperson from OnePlus told The Mobile Indian that “unlike European and US market, the Chinese handset manufacturer will not discontinue the original OnePlus 3”. Further, the company also revealed that there will not be in price cuts for OnePlus 3 post the launch of the ‘T’ variant. So no heartburn there too.
Further, OnePlus recently confirmed that both OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will receive future Android updates with Android Nougat update coming up sometime in next month.
Just to brief out the specifications of the new OnePlus 3T, the device features the same 5.5 inches Full HD Optic-AMOLED. Underneath the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Chipset clocked at 2.35GHz (OnePlus 3 – Snapdragon 820 chipset at 2.15 GHz). It comes with the same 6GB RAM and 64 GB/ 128 GB internal storage options. On the camera front, the device sports the same 16-megapixel sensor as seen on the OnePlus 3. The front camera, however, saw a bump from 8 megapixels to 16-megapixel shooter. The battery also has been increased to 3400 mAh.
The price for the Indian market is still a mystery but we expect it to be sometime between Rs 30,000 – 33,000 for the 64GB variant and Rs 33,000 – 36,000 for 128GB variant.
