After rolling out stable OxygenOS 4.0.3 for OnePlus 3 and 3T earlier last month, OnePlus has now rolled out Open Beta 12 based on Android Nougat 7.1.1 for both the devices. Open Beta series from OnePlus is a beta programme wherein the company asks for feedback (in terms of bugs and issues) from the users in order to fix before they release a stable version for all the users.
Both the OnePlus 3 and 3T received Android Nougat update on this New Year’s eve and have received a couple of more stable as well as beta updates. As far as the changelog is concerned, Tony L. on OnePlus forums posted that the new Open Beta 12 brings the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board. Now, Android 7.1.1 Nougat in itself is just a minor update containing some bug fixes, the new Open Beta 12 comes with some general fixes and few gallery improvements which are as follows.
#New Shot on OnePlus wallpaper option
#Gallery Improvements
#New photo editor with watermark and photo straightening options
#Newly added media will be highlighted in Photos section
#Image location will be displayed on grid view
#Media can be grouped by month and year
#Folders and individual media can be hidden
Apart from this, compatibility issues with some third party application has also been resolved while Android Pay issues on some Londom TFL/Tube (Transport For London) is also fixed.
Now if you are already on the previous Open Beta 11, you will soon receive this update via OTA (Over The Air) while if you are on a stable version of OxygenOS, you will need to manually flash it. However, once you flash the any Beta version on your OnePlus 3 or 3T, you will not receive any official stable updates.
