ZTE’s nubia brand has today announced that it will launch its upcoming flagship Z20 smartphone in China on August 9. The company has posted a launch poster which confirms the launch date of the Z20 but it does not carry any information on its specs.
The Nubia Z20 will be the successor for the Nubia Z18 smartphone which was launched last year. Interestingly, Nubia has skipped the Z19 moniker this year.
A couple of photos taken by the Nubia Z20 have also been shared by the official Nubia account on Weibo. The images shared by Nubia are of the Milky Way in the Southern Hemisphere. The company said that it is the first time a mobile phone is capable of capturing Milky Way with this detail. Both the images are of 12MP resolution, so the phone could feature a 48MP camera offering 12MP output. The second image hints at the loss-less or hybrid zoom feature.
Since the Nubia Z20 will be a flagship device, it is expected that the phone could be powered by Snapdragon 855 or 855+ Chipset coupled with 8 GB of RAM. The phone is said to run Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box and will feature a large-sized battery.
Earlier, an image of the alleged Nubia Z20 appeared on Weibo but it did not reveal the design of the phone since it is encased in a protective cover. Now a fresh photo of the Nubia Z20 has surfaced online on Weibo which reveals that the phone will be equipped with a notch-less design.
