Nokia to launch Asha 500 in India this month, Asha 503 in Jan

The Asha 500 will be priced at Rs 4,499 (before taxes and duties) while the Asha 503 has a suggested retail price of Rs 6,799 (before taxes and duties).

Nokia will launch its new Asha 500 in India later this month while the Asha 503 will be made available in January next year. Nokia had announced this two phones few months back along with Asha 502 which is now available in India for Rs 5,739 (to read about it click here). The Asha 500 will be priced at Rs 4,499 (before taxes and duties) while the Asha 503 has a suggested retail price of Rs 6,799 (before taxes and duties).
Asha 500
Meanwhile, the Finnish handset company during its 6th Annual Strategy Summit in Goa announced that Nokia Asha 500 will be launched in late December “and is set to be the lowest priced affordable smartphone to offer Whatsapp”. According to Nokia, users of Asha 500 will get special offer from Tata Docomo and can avail free WhatsApp for three months following which it will be available for Rs 17 for 30 days.
Asha 503
Nokia Asha 500 comes with a 2.8 inch touchscreen with 240×320 pixel resolution. It has 64 MB RAM and a 32 GB micro SD card slot. It has a 2 megapixel rear camera but no front camera is available. Curiously, the Asha 500 comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, and micro USB but is non 3G. It runs on Nokia Asha platform and has a 1200 mAh battery that claims to provide 14 hours of talktime.
Asha 503
The Nokia Asha 503 is a (HSPA) phone and comes with a 3 inch touchscreen. This display has Gorilla Glass protection (perhaps the cheapest phone to have the scratch resistant glass). Armed with and proximity sensors, the Nokia Asha 503 comes with the Asha platform, 5 megapixel rear camera with flash, 32 GB expandable memory slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 1200 mAh battery.
