Nokia India today launched its new music service which will be available on its newly introduced phones – Nokia X2-02, Nokia Asha 200 and Nokia Asha 300.
The new Nokia Music unlimited service will allow users to download and share free music from millions of songs from the Nokia Music Store.
“Nokia Music Unlimited Service offers consumers an opportunity to discover, enjoy and share latest, high quality music in a fast, easy and safe way — anytime, anywhere and for free. Nokia Music Unlimited service offers the best of local and global music with an abundance of legal tracks from a range of artistes including international hits and local content,” said the company in a press release.
Launching the service, D Shivakumar, managing director, Nokia India, said, “Nokia has been synonymous with digital music in this country. We have pioneered many initiatives in this space starting with pre-installed music, launch of music albums on mobile phones and then Nokia Music Unlimited for our hi-end phones. The offering of Nokia Music Service on feature phones underscores our commitment to truly democratise music by taking it to the masses.”
Nokia Music Store includes extensive catalogues from major global labels like Sony Music Entertainment and EMI Music and Nokia’s local partnership with Indian Music Industry (a consortium of more than 150 music companies), Hungama that represents major labels including Yash Raj, Tseries, and SIMCA (South Indian Music Companies Association), amongst others.
