Nokia, now Microsoft Devices, is currently testing out and wrapping up the Windows Phone 8.1 update, packaged as Cyan and is build for the Lumia devices. The EVLeaks posted Nokia’s plan to roll out the Nokia Cyan update for the compatible Windows Phone 8 based Lumia smartphones. Right from Lumia 1520 to the Lumia 520, every Windows Phone 8 device from Nokia would be getting the Cyan update.
From the schedule leaked, the premium handsets to first get the Cyan updates are Lumia 1520, Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925. The Nokia Cyan update will not only bundle the Windows Phone 8.1 version improvements, but also optimise the camera roll, Creative Studio and Storyteller App on select devices.
The Windows Phone 8.1 update brings new Action Center and several other options for the Windows Phone 8 devices. From late July onwards, Nokia plans to push the Cyan update for the Lumia 520, Lumia 620, Lumia 720, Lumia 820, Lumia 920 and Lumia 1320.
The Mobile Indian had reported about Microsoft’s plans to release the Windows Phone 8.1 update to the existing devices in late July. However, do note that the leaked schedule is for North American regions. The Cyan update for Indian consumers might start appearing in the first week of August or later.
