With too many things going on Nokia’s workshop it seems that it is getting difficult for Nokia to announce the launch of new phones as well. The Nokia C5-00 5MP Symbian S60^3 based phone has been announced by Nokia but without any official announcement on the same. The phone has just made it way to teh Nokia developer website where the launch date has been listed as 27 June 2011. And going by the official Nokia communication on the same, well there isn’t any information released by Nokia.
The C5-00 is a 3.5G phone with quad Band GSM support. The design of the C5-00 is simplistic candybar type with a 2.2″ QVGA resolution TFT display and a 12 key multitap Alphanumeric keypad. Even with the newer p[products of Nokia focusing on Symbian Anna or even the Symbian Belle the C5-00 features the Symbian S60^3 operating system at its core running on an ARM 11 600 Mhz processor with a 512 MB of ROM and 256MB or RAM. The storage for the phone is handled by a micro SD card supporting up to 32 GB of external memory.
The C5-00 features a 5 Megapixel Full Focus camera or in other words a fixed focus camera capable of video recording as well but with only a VGA resolution at 15 frames /sec.
Additional features include integrated A-GPS with Nokia Maps 3.0 for navigation, USB 2.0 High-Speed connectivity with USB charging with simultaneous data transfer, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR, and over the air firmware upgrade as well, but only if the service provider supports that.
The company claims a big 11 hour talk-time and 25 day Standby time with this device and if you are a music love this device will particularly suit you with 30 hours of claimed music playback time and up to 89 hours of video playback time.
Although the device is built on the same platform as the C5-00 launched in India couple of time back but the main difference between the two is the inclusion of a 5 Megapixel camera and better battery backup or power performance of the C5-00 5MP. The ship date for the C5-00 is expected by the end of July and the price tag will be upwards of Rs 7500. But until Nokia officially comments and the price and availability nothing concrete can be said about the new Nokia C5-00 5MP.
