Nokia, which has recently launched the Nokia XL smartphone in India, has partnered with Bharti Airtel to offer free downloads of Android apps till up to 500 MB limit for the Nokia XL owners. Obviously, those Nokia XL owners need to have Bharti Airtel’s SIM card in the smartphone to avail this offer for first six months.
Viral Oza, director marketing at Nokia India, stated in the release about the new Nokia-Airtel offer,”To help our consumers experience these apps, we are offering free downloads on Airtel from the Nokia Store and several popular third-party apps stores.”
Under this offer, the new Nokia XL buyers having Airtel’s mobile subscription can download Android apps up to 500 MB for free from the Nokia Store and 1Mobile Store. This offer is covered under the fair usage policy and once the 500 MB limit is reached, the user gets charged as per the chosen plan.
Nokia announced the new Nokia XL Dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone for Rs 11,489 for Indian consumers. The Nokia XL is the large screen version of the Nokia X and Nokia X+ phones.
Nokia XL comes with a 5 inch LCD display with 480×800 pixels resolution against 4.5 inch HD display of Moto G. The Dual SIM Nokia XL is powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon S4 dual core processor and it comes with Nokia X software platform which is based on the Android operating system. Besides, the Nokia XL has a 5 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front camera, 2000 mAh battery promising 13 hours of 3G talktime, 4 GB internal storage, 768 MB RAM, and 32 GB expandable storage space. Besides, this 3G smartphone has WiFi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and FM radio.
