Nokia 8 to get Android 8.0 Oreo update in late October: Report

HMD Global has already announced that all its Nokia-branded smartphones including Nokia 8, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 will receive the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update. The brand has already teased the beta update for its latest flagship model, Nokia 8, on Twitter and it seems that the company might roll out the Android Oreo update by end of this October.

According to a report coming out from Taiwan, HMD Global’s officials present at an event held in the country confirmed that the smartphone will receive the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update by the end of October. However, there is no way to confirm this news, so we suggest you take this report with a pinch of salt.

Previously, HMD’s General Manager for Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia Mark Trundle has confirmed that the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 will be updated to Android Oreo by the end of the year in an interview with GadgetGaul and Nokianesia, as per NokiaMob.

To recall, the smartphone was launched in India at Rs 36,990. The Nokia 8 is powered by an octa-core (Four 2.5GHz Kryo + Four 1.8GHz Kryo) Snapdragon 835 Processor with 4GB of LPPDDR4X RAM along with 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 256GB.
