HMD Global has recently confirmed that it will roll out 4G support for the second SIM for its latest smartphone, the Nokia 7 Plus. Now, the brand has started rolling out a new update brings the feature to the second SIM to not only Nokia 7 Plus, but also Nokia 6 (2018).
The Nokia 7 Plus comes loaded with a Dual-SIM slot, but only one SIM offered 4G LTE support even though the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Chipset can support dual LTE. This was criticized by many users and reviewers. However, HMD’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas, said that the brand will soon roll out the update that will bring the 4G LTE support for the second SIM.
The update was first spotted by TelecomTalk and reveals that the update has been rolled out to Nokia 7 Plus with model number TA-1046 and Nokia 6 (2018) with model number TA-1089. The update of Nokia 7 Plus carries version number 2.22A and it weighs around 441MB. The changelog reveals that the update brings user interface enhancements, improved system stability. With the latest update, the smartphone will be updated to the Android 8.1 Oreo.
Coming to the Nokia 6 (2018), the smartphone comes with a same version number V2.22A and has the same changelog. However, the update brings Smart Face feature to the Smart Lock menu and the update also brings the May 2018 security patch to both the smartphones. Users can check for the latest update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates to download the latest update.
