Nokia 6.1 has finally started receiving a stable Android 9.0 Pie update. After Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus is also expected to receive the Pie update since the device has already received Android 9.0 (Pie) beta update.
The Android Pie update has been confirmed by Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global on Twitter. The tweet reads “Android 9 Pie: now available on Nokia 6.1! AI-power your Nokia 6.1 as it gets smarter, faster and adapts as you use it. We are serving with a side of cool refreshed imaging expereince including Google Lens integration”.

The company has already earlier confirmed before that Android Pie update will be coming to Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus in October, Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco in November.
The update will bring features including new gesture-based navigation, Manual theme selection, New Quick Settings UI, Android 9.0 based volume slider, Adaptive brightness, Android Dashboard which Google calls Digital Wellbeing and much more.
The Nokia 6.1 smartphone was launched in India In April this year along with Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco. The phone features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is armed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Processor coupled with a 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage.
The Nokia 6.1 is backed up by a 3000 mAh non-removable battery with fast charging. It has a 16-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 Aperture along with an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. The phone has hybrid Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 5, GPS, USB Type C, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, Dual speakers, Dual smart amplifiers, and Dolby Atmos.
