To our biggest Surprise! HMD Global has announced the launch of its first Nokia Android powered smartphone, called Nokia 6, in China yesterday. Previously HMD Global was expected to showcase the Nokia Android phone during MWC 2017.
The Nokia 6 is a mid-ranger smartphone and is priced at 1699 CNY, which is approximately Rs 16,711. The smartphone will be available exclusively in China through JD.com in early 2017. As of now there is no information on when this smartphone will hit the Indian shores.
Nokia 6 has an aluminium unibody design. The company claims that it has taken 55 minutes to machine a single Nokia 6 from a solid block of 6000 series aluminium and received two separate anodising processes. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and comes equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5GHz Cortex A53) processor, along with with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 128GB via microSD. It also houses a fingerprint scanner, which is embedded on its home button.
The Nokia 6 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and gets its juices from a decent 3000mAh non-removable battery. On the camera front, the smartphone flaunts a 16-megapixel with PDAF, 1.0um sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. On its front it has an 8-megapixel camera with 1.12um sensor, and f/2.0 Aperture for selfies and video calling. Besides, the Nokia 6 offers Dual SIM, 4G LTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, OTG support, Dual speakers, Dual smart amplifiers, and Dolby Atmos.
