The Nokia 6 which was initially launched in China in January for 1699 CNY has started receiving Android 7.1.1 update. In February, HDM Global has also announced that global roll-out of Nokia 6 along with New Nokia 3310, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3. All theses Nokia phones are expected to launch globally by end of Q2 2017 and before the Nokia 6 go global, the smartphone is reportedly receiving Android 7.1.1 Nougat in China via an over-the-air (OTA) update. As of now, the said smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
The size of the update is around 369MB and bears a build name ’00CN_3_170′. The update brings various new features which include shortcut support on home screen, new and updated emojis, bug fixing and more. Moreover, with this update, the Nokia 6 will be able to support 4G/3G Dual-SIM dual-standby.
As far as specifications are concerned, Nokia 6 has an aluminium unibody design. The company claims that it has taken 55 minutes to machine a single Nokia 6 from a solid block of 6000 series aluminium and received two separate anodising processes. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and comes equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5GHz Cortex A53) processor, along with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM, and 32GB/64GB internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 128GB via microSD. It also houses a fingerprint scanner, which is embedded in its home button.
