Nokia 6 global variant in works

At the time of the announcement, Nokia only showed up the Black variant.

Post numerous rounds of leaks and rumours, Nokia finally unveiled its first smartphone by HMD Global last Sunday (8th Jan 2017). The company announced the device in China with the price tag of CNY1,699 (approximately Rs 16,700) with the availability to be expected sometime soon. At the time of the announcement, Nokia only showed up the Black variant, however, as per latest listing on the Chinese certification website, TENNA, the smartphone has now been spotted in Silver colour variant.

Further, as per the new listing on TENNA, the smartphone boasts the codename TA-1000 which was earlier rumoured to be of the Nokia E1 if a report from NokiaPowerUser is to be considered. Moreover, a new variant having the codename TA-1003 has also been spotted with Certification which might be an indication of possible global launch. Addition to this, another report from Gizmochina reveals that HMD Hong Kong is sending out invites for a media event which might have the Nokia 6 on stage. Further, as per the report, the company is also looking to launch the device in Taiwan and Macau later.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Nokia 6 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with 3 protection. On the inside, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5GHz Cortex A53) processor, along with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 4GB of and 64GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD. It also houses a fingerprint scanner, which is embedded in its home button.

In terms of the OS, the Nokia 6 runs on the latest 7.0 Nougat operating system and gets its juices from a 3000mAh non-removable battery. On the camera front, the smartphone flaunts a 16-megapixel camera with PDAF, 1.0um sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. On the other hand, it has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a 1.12um sensor and f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. Besides, the Nokia 6 offers Dual SIM, LTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, OTG support, Dual speakers, Dual smart amplifiers, and Dolby Atmos. As of now, no information about the India pricing and availability has been revealed, however, we would recommend you to stay updated on our portal for the same.

Meanwhile, Nokia in collaboration with HMD Global is also working on its own AI-based voice assistant which is expected to come integrated into future devices from the company. It will be interesting to see what Nokia has in store voice-assistant as we have to admit, that the road to the best voice assistant is now a lot bumpier after Google came up with its own Google Assistant last year.
