HMD Global introduced its latest budget-centric smartphone, the Nokia 5.1 Plus in India, though it didn’t reveal the price of the new phone. Now, the brand has revealed that Nokia 5.1 Plus comes at a price tag of Rs 10,999 and it comes in two colour options, Gloss Black and Gloss Midnight Blue.
The smartphone will be available for purchase from Nokia Mobile Shop and Flipkart starting from October 01, 2018. The company has also announced some launch offer on the latest smartphone. To start with, Airtel customers will get an instant cashback of 1,800 and 240GB of data over 12 months on the recharge of Rs 199, Rs 249 and Rs 448 plans.
The latest smartphone from HMD Global is a part of Android One programme and it features a glass design at the back. The phone features a 5.86-inch HD display with a notch on the top. The screen has a Resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels coupled with an aspect ratio of 19:9.
The device is powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 Processor along with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. The Nokia phone features 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded up to 256GB via micro SD card slot. With this, the smartphone will give a stiff competition to the likes of Realme 2, Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1.
For optics, Nokia 5.1 Plus features a 13-megapixel primary with LED Flash, PDAF and a secondary 5-megapixel sensor for AI portrait shots at the rear panel. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera for video calling and selfies with AI-powered features. The front camera comes with AI-powered Face Unlock as well.
The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and just like Nokia 6.1 Plus, it comes Android One branding. The phone is backed by a 3000mAh battery and connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, GPS, GLONASS, Dual-SIM and USB Type-C port. The phone measures 149.51 x 71.98 x 8mm and weighs 160 grams.
