HMD Global has today announced the launch of its latest budget-centric smartphone, the Nokia 4.2, in India. The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs10,990. It will beavailable exclusively on Nokia.com/phones for a 7-day period starting 7thMay and across select retail outlets and partners like Croma, Reliance, Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C and MyG starting 14thMay.
The major highlight of the smartphone is the compact design along with a glossy finish at the back panel. The company has also added a Google Assistant button, which is situated at the left side of the device. The phone will be available in two colour options Black and Pink Sand.

Jumping straight to the specifications, the Nokia 4.2 is equipped with a 5.71-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and 270ppi pixel density. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded with the help of a dedicated microSD card slot.
On the imaging department, the Nokia 4.2 is backed by a dual-camera setup, which comes with a combination of 13-megapixel primary lens with f/2.2 Aperture coupled with a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, it is loaded with an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
The smartphone runs on Android 9.0 Pie and it comes with Android One branding. This simply means that users will get pure Android experience coupled with timely updates and security patches.
The phone is juiced up by a 3000mAh battery, which the brand claims give a Standby time of 25 days, talk time of up to 18 hours and local music playback of up to 100 hours. Connectivity options include G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, GLONASS, FM Radio,NFC, Google Assistant button and Micro USB port. The phone measures 148.95 x 71.30 x 8.39 mm and weighs 161 grams.
