The Nokia 3 smartphone which was launched in India last month with Android 7.0 along with Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 is now confirmed to get Android 7.1.1 Nougat update by August end. The confirmation comes straight from HMD’s chief product officer, Juho Sarvikas official twitter handle who has revealed that Nokia 3 will receive the Android 7.1.1 Nougat by the end of August. So there is still one month left for Nokia 3 owners to receive Android 7.1.1 update.
His tweet says “Got a few questions on this so wanted to confirm that #Nokia3 will receive 7.1.1 update by end of August. @nokiamobile”. HMD Global already promised operating system support for its Android smartphones before minimum two years. The delay in Nokia 3 getting Android 7.1.1 is however blamed on its MediaTek processor.
Android 7.1.1 update brings a new feature called ‘app shortcuts’ through which the users can easily access their favourite apps from the by simply long pressing the App icon. Users can also send GIFs directly from their keyboard on supported apps such as Google Allo, Google Messenger and Hangouts.
