Nikon has today added a new member in its Coolpix series with the launch of Coolpix W150 point-and-shoot camera. The company has not disclosed the price of the new camera and there is no information about the availability.
The major highlight of the new camera is its rugged design. The company claims that the camera is waterproof up to 10 meters, shockproof up to 1.8 metres, dustproof and it is cold resistance down to -10 °C. The camera comes loaded with different pop colour patterns like Orange, Resort and Flower along with classic White and Blue colour options.
The Coolpix W150 camera comes loaded with a 1/ 3.1-inch CMOS sensor that delivers effective 13.2 million pixels. The camera is packed with a Nikkor lens with 3x Optical Zoom covering a wide angle from 30mm to 90mm. Then there is a 6x Dynamic Fine Zoom feature that covers approximately 180mm.
The point-and-shoot camera features Target Finding AF, which automatically focus on the main subject within the frame. It also features the picture-in-picture function that allows users to juxtapose a chosen image against a different background. The camera can shoot underwater photo and the Picture Play function that corrects the blue colour of underwater photos, making subjects clearer. The W150 also applies appropriate image processing before shooting underwater, ensuring that photos are not distorted by the water.
Then there is an image lock function that allows users to restrict image deletion and a welcome screen which has the ability to change its background based on the number of images captured. A Smile Timer function allows the camera to automatically release the shutter when it detects a smile on the face of a human subject. One can transfer high-quality photos with the help of SnapBridge 2.5.
