An unannounced smartphone from Vivo with model name ‘Vivo Y55’ has been spotted on the website of Chinese certification agency, TENAA. The listing not only has images of the phone but it also carries the detailed specifications of the device. On TENAA, there are three variants listed for Vivo Y55- Vivo Y55, Vivo Y55L, and Vivo Y55N. Surprisingly all three of them have the same specifications. As per report, Y55L and Y55N will be exclusive to Chinese networks, while the Y55 will support all the networks.
As per listing, the Vivo Y55 features a 5.2-inch HD display. A 1.4 GHz octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM runs this phone that offers 16GB of internal storage. You can expand storage by upto 128GB using its micro SD card slot. The Y55 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system and not the latest Android Nougat version. Also, the phone has a usual sized battery of 2650 mAh capacity which is non-removable so it must have a unibody. Vivo had many metal unibody phones in its arsenal and if you look at the picture, the Vivo Y55 also looks like a metal phone.
On the camera front, an 8-megapixel primary camera and an LED flash is in its back panel while a 5-megapixel is in its front for selfies. Besides the smartphone offers Dual hybrid SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Micro USB 2.0 port, Gravity sensors, Distance sensors, and Light sensors. The handset measures 147.9 x 72.9 x 7.5 mm and weighs around 142 grams. Further, as per listing the phone will be available in Gold, Rose Gold, and Gray color options.
The listing on TENAA definitely means that the phone is real and may be launched in China. But that in no way means it would also be launching in India. However, we could expect it to be launched in India as well since Vivo has decent presence in the country. But in any case it needs to be priced aggressively as the spec sheet definitely is not that inspiring.
