Honda is reportedly set to start taking bookings for its new Amaze from April 6. The booking amount has been set at Rs 21,000 and the car will be formally launched by mid-May, said a report.
The new Honda Amaze was first revealed by the company during the 2018 Auto Expo. It is said to have been designed in Thailand. Coming to some key specifications, the Amaze will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol version comes with 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that gives a power of 87 Bhp and peak torque of 110Mn. The diesel variant comes with a 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine with a power of 98.6 Bhp and peak torque of 200 Nm. Both the variants offer 5-speed manual gearboxes, while the petrol variant also comes with CVT automatic gearbox.
Expected to cost between Rs 6 to 8 lakh, the 2018 Honda Amaze has a slightly lower roofline to make it aerodynamic and a new grille. One version of the new Honda Amaze is also expected with the 1.2 liter engine found in current model. Among noticeable changes includes a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can be integrated with smartphones
Honda Amaze has been one of the best selling cars for the company in India and with the new model, sales likely to grow more. The new version will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor/Zest and the Ford Aspire.
