Google is gearing up for its annual Google I/O Conference that will take place at San Francisco, US starting from June 25. The Google I/O is the annual conference for the developers where Google shows the latest version updates in the software products offered. At the same event, Google has been announcing new Android versions, showing features and also hinting devices that are launched before end of the year. Google has updated the Google I/O 2014 page with an unknown tablet’s image.
Google has been reportedly working to bring a new Nexus 8 tablet at a slightly premium price compared to the current Nexus 7 line up. The new tablet, currently named as Nexus 8, is rumoured to compete with the Apple iPad mini with Retina display. The Mobile Indian recently reported about the Nexus 8 tablet being spotted in the Google Chromium Build code.
The design of the tablet will easily let anyone mistake it for the Nexus 10 tablet developed by Samsung. However, closer look will show the difference in the bezels. On top of the display in portrait mode, the thin strip of speaker mesh is vaguely visible. However, the blue icons on the top right of the display reminds us that the tablet image could be simply a render or place holder (dummy image).
