A mysterious Android 4.0.3 based device running Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 mobile processor has been spotted on a website.
Notably, this Qualcomm Snapdragon processor just made a brief debut inside Asus Padfone at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012, and also won an award for Best Innovation 2012.
Asus Padfone is a unique tablet-smartphone combination in which the tablet accommodates the smartphone at its rear. Of both, the smartphone comes with the next generation Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Krait family mobile processor.
The new Snapdragon S4 Krait is a 28 nm fabrication mobile chip that promises faster performance and better graphics.
However, the major advantage of this new Snapdragon S4 Krait family of systems-on-a-chip is that it packs WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and FM radio – all on a single chip.
As per the Nenamark 2 Benchmark listing, the mystery device was running a dual core Qualcomm MSM8960 mobile processor and Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. From the information provided, the device appears to be a reference design with a 1024 x 600 Pixel Resolution display. This device could either be a tablet or a smartphone with high resolution.
This mysterious device could be the tablet part of Asus Padfone as the specification details of the same haven’t been released yet. Maybe we can expect the specifications to be made public at the Mobile World Congress.
