With the Mobile World Congress 2019 event up and running, Taiwan Excellence is presenting three humanoid robots designed to make life easier for users at home or work. The three new robots are listed as Kebbi, Robelf and Smart Service Robot, most of which are equipped with facial and voice recognition technology and are capable of engaging in conversations or recognise a user’s body language.
Kebbi
To start things with, Taiwan Excellence presents Kebbi which has been developed by Nuwa Robotics. Android comes with the ability to understand body language or teach English or other subjects to users. Kebbi is also capable of recognising faces and voices of each member of a household and can thus receive orders from different members with different functions.
Robelf
Robelf has been developed by Robotelf Technologies to protect homes through surveillance guards and voice, vision and position sensors. It also comes with facial recognition technology allows, can detect when a stranger walks into a house and send alerts to a user’s phone. The robot can also obey orders and recognise them by turning its head to the person giving the order. Additionally, it can talk, tell stories, make calls, report the latest news, teach or even make jokes.
Robelf can be controlled using its mobile application available on iOS and Android. However, it’s developed for Android which allows for the development of applications by developers to add new functionalities. It also features teaching skills, which allows it to teach various subjects to children and adults.
Smart Service Robot
Lastly, there’s the Smart Service Robot which is presented by New Era AI Robotic as a product for business establishments. It’s designed to welcome customers into hotels, shops or public administration offices and is equipped with facial and voice recognition technology.
The Smart Service Robot is also enabled to interact wot users through voice dialogues which will act as a guide at public places like hospitals, airports or hotels.
