Sony has today announced the launch of new Xperia series at the Mobile World Congress. The company has introduced Xperia 1, Xperia L3, Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus smartphones.
The Xperia 1 will be available at a starting price of EUR 799 and it will go on sale in th US from late Spring. Xperia 10 is priced at $349.99, while the Xperia 10 Plus is priced at $429.99 and both of them will go on sale in the US on March 18. The Xperia L3 price and availability is yet to be announced.
Sony Xperia 1
Starting with the flagship smartphone from Sony, the Xperia 1 features a tall display and it a first from Sony to feature a 21:9 aspect ratio. The phone features a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display with a screen resolution of 3840 x 1644 pixels. The company claims that the new display is powered by CineAlta. THe screen supports DCI-P3 100 per cent and BT.2020.
This is also company’s first smartphone to feature a triple-camera setup. The setup comes with a combination of three 12-megapixel Sensors with first 12MP sensor sporting an f/1.6 aperture, 1.4-micron Pixel size, second 12-megapixel sensor sport a 135-degree wide angle lens with f/2.4 Aperture and the third sensor is f/2.4 aperture. The setup also features 2x optical zoom, OIS and hybrid OIS/EIS video stabilization. It also features 960fps super slow motion video recording at Full HD and HD coupled with 4K HDR movie recording, RAW noise reduction, up to 10fps AF/AE and RGBC-IR sensor. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with 1/4 sensor size, 1.12μm, 84-degree Wide-Angle and f/2.0 aperture.
The smartphone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Chipset along with Adreno 640 GPU. It is backed by a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 512GB via microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie and it is backed by a 3300mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive charging Quick Charge 3.0 and Qi wireless charging. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, NFC and USB 3.1 Type-C port.
Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus
Coming to the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus, both the smartphones run on Android 9.0 Pie and both of them features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus features a 6.0-inch and 6.5-inch Full HD+ CineWide display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels and 21:9 aspect ratio. The Xperia 10 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Processor along with Adreno 509 GPU, while the Xperia 10 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset. The Xperia 10 is backed by a 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the Xperia 10 Plus is backed by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
On the camera front, the Xperia 10 features a dual-camera setup with a combination of 13-megapixel primary lens with f/2.4 aperture, 1.4-micron pixel size and 1/ 4-inch sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary lens with f/2.4 aperture. The Xperia 10 Plus is equipped with a 12-megapixel primary lens with f/1.75 aperture, f/ 2.8-inch sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary shooter with f/2.4 aperture, 1.12-micron pixel size. Both the smartphones feature an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1/4-inch sensor, 1.12-micron pixel size, 84-degree wide-angle lens.
The Xperia 10 is backed by a 2870mAh battery, while the Xperia 10 Plus is backed by a 3000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, both of them offer 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C and Dual-SIM support.
Sony Xperia L3
Lastly, the Sony Xperia L3 is equipped with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset along with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It is backed by a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card slot.
For optics, the Xperia L3 is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.12-micron pixel size and a 2-megapixel secondary shooter. For selfies, it is equipped with an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and it is backed by a 3300mAh battery. On the connectivity front, it is equipped with 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C, NFC and dual-SIM.
