MWC 2017: Selfie focussed Gionee A1, A1 Plus announced at MWC 2017

The USP of these A series smartphones is their huge batteries and selfie cameras.

Gionee has today introduced its two new A series smartphones, the Gionee A1 and A1 Plus,at the ongoing MWC 2017 event. A1 and A1 Plus will be available for EUR 349 (approx. Rs 24,634) and EUR 499 (approx. Rs 31,693) respectively starting March 2017 and April 2017. The Gionee A1 is available in in Gray, Black, Gold colour options while Gionee A1 Plus comes in Gray, Mocha Gold colour variants.

The USP of these A series smartphones is their huge batteries and selfie cameras. As per Gionee, its new 18W ultrafast charging can charge these devices in 2 hours. Also, the company adds a tagline to the devices – “Super camera, super battery”.

Gionee A1

Gionee A1 offers a 5.5-inch full with 1920×1080 resolution and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek 6755 Helio P10 processor, along with 4GB and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone also comes with an option to expand the storage to 128GB via microUSB port.

On the camera front, the smartphone has a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, F2.0, 1/3.06 inches, 5P lens, flash and a 16-megapixel front camera with fixed focus, F2.0, 1/3.06 inches, 5P lens, selfie flash. The smartphone runs on 7.0 Nougat operating system and is backed up by a 4,010 mAh battery. As per the company, this smartphone is the most affordable smartphone. Besides, the smartphone comes with dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, 4.1, GPS, and micro USB. The handset measures 154.5 x 76.5 x 8.5 mm and weighs 182 grams.

Gionee A1 Plus

Gionee A1 Plus features a 6-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display and is powered by the MediaTek Helio P25 and 4 of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and is packed with a 4550 mAh battery. The smartphone comes with 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable to 128GB via a micro card. The smartphone flaunts a dual rear camera setup with 13-megapixel with autofocus, F2.0, 1/3.06 inches, 5P lens, flash. It features a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with fixed focus, F2.0, 1/2.8 inches, 5P lens, selfie flash. The front camera comes with Bokeh-Selfie Mode feature. On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers 4G/LTE, WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), micro-USB port, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS/A-GPS. The handset measures 166.4 x 83.3 x 9.1 mm and weighs 226 grams.
