MTS, the CDMA mobile services brand of Sistema Shyam TeleServvices (SSTL) has launched its services in Mumbai, with per second billing as well as its high speed internet service, MBlaze. MBlaze is an internet Modem which can be connected to a computer through USB.
With the Mumbai launch, MTS voice and data services are now available in Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, apart from the 8 telecom circles which SSTL operates.
The inaugural voice offering includes half a paisa per second on all local calls and one paisa per second for all long distance calls.
Subscribers in Mumbai will be able download up to 15 GB data free worth Rs 1500 for a month as part of the inaugural offer of MBlaze, the Mobile Data service of MTS.
MTS has over 2.8 million subscribers in India and has over 100 million subscribers all over the world. Sistema Shyam TeleServices (SSTL) is a joint venture between Sistema of Russia and the Shyam Group of India. Sistema is the majority share holder in this joint venture with a 74 per cent equity stake, along with the Shyam Group holding a 23.5 per cent stake and the remaining 2.5 per cent being publically held. SSTL has spectrum to provide mobile telephony services in all the 22 circles across the country.
MTS launches its services in Mumbai
The CDMA operator has forayed in Mumbai after creating a presence in eight circles in India. It recently launched its services in Delhi.
