Starting May 15th, MTS will reduce the ISD rates to USA, Canada and UK to Rs 3.99 per minute, while calls to Russia will be charged at Rs 4.99 per minute.
To avail the new call rates, MTS customers will not be required to commit anything in terms of subscription to special calling packs. However, the rates will be available only for a month before being revised again. The new offer will be made available as the default calling rate to all MTS India customers across the country.
Currently, majority of the mobile operators in India have priced their calling rates to US, Canada and UK at Rs 6.40 per minute. Recently, MTS also slashed its calling rates to Japan by 78 per cent to Rs 1.99 per minute.
MTS India has chosen 15th May, the International Day of Family, to launch this special initiative.
Commenting on the new offer, chief marketing and sales officer of MTS India, Leonid Musatov said, “As people around the world get ready to celebrate family togetherness, we at MTS India have slashed our calling rates to USA, Canada and UK by as much as 40 per cent to enable people to stay in touch with their loved ones. I am confident such an initiative would be very well received by all our customers.”
MTS also provides the most economical calling rates to CIS countries — Armenia, Russia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan — at Rs 5.99 per minute.
