Motorola has launched Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi and 3G variant tablets in India. The tablet is based on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), and features a 1GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM, front-facing and rear-facing cameras, multi-tasking functionality, and 25.6 cm (10.1-inch) widescreen HD display.
“Motorola XOOM is redefining the tablet experience by pre-empting the future mobile experience today,” said Rajan Chawla, Mobile Devices business country head for Sales and Operations, India and South West Asia, Motorola Mobility.
He added “this tablet offers productivity while on the go and, provides more ways to have fun and connect with friends. Whether surfing the Web, watching the latest hit movie as it was intended or video-chatting with friends, Motorola XOOM will delight customers with its ease of use, speed and vivid graphics. Motorola XOOM is everything that a tablet should be!”
The tablet has support for HDMI enables viewing of videos and movies on larger screens, such as HD televisions. A 5 MP rear-facing camera with flash captures HD video, and a 2 MP front-facing camera enables clear video chats using Google Talk.
The latest Google Mobile services include Google Maps and access to over 200,000 apps from Android Market.
Motorola XOOM also supports a beta version of Adobe Flash player 10.2 downloadable from Android Market, enabling the delivery of rich Flash-based Web content including videos, casual games and rich Internet applications.
Motorola XOOM also features a built-in gyroscope, barometer, e-compass, Accelerometer and adaptive lighting. The tablet supports up to 10 hours of video playback and charges in half the time of some competitive tablets on the market.
Motorola XOOM is available in two variants in India—Wi-Fi and 3G version. The Best Buy for the Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi version is Rs 32,990 (MRP: Rs 34,490) and the Best Buy for the 3G version is Rs 39,990 (MRP: Rs 41,490).
