Motorola is due to launch its next generation slim handset Droid RAZR and the first images of this handset appear at the teaser site — reveal.motorola.com. The website now redirects to Motorola homepage now. From the images, it is quite clear that the Droid RAZR handset will be slim and have large touchscreen display. Interesting fact is that Motorola has put up a countdown that ends before the most awaited Google-Samsung event to launch Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running Galaxy Nexus.
Motorola Droid RAZR which is also known as Spyder is company’s first smartphone that will have 4.3-inch display and support qHD (960×540) pixel resolution. The Droid RAZR will have 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display and houses dual-core 1.2 GHz mobile Processor coupled with 1GB RAM.
From the looks itself, it is quite visible that Droid RAZR might be the thinnest Motorola smartphone so far with side lock switch. This smartphone will run Android 2.3.5 and would be carrying new Blue Blur UI skinning on the top of it.
Droid RAZR has an 8 Megapixel image sensor bearing camera at the back for high quality imaging and even the front facing camera promises HD quality. Also the images clearly show that this smartphone will support 4G LTE networks and will be Verizon Wireless exclusive at the launch.
The specifications indicate that the handset will run the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread but the launch timing is quite interesting — just a day ahead of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich launch. It’s not new that Motorola has been acquired by Google but the latter is leveraging on the Motorola device and wishes to keep the Android rush at all time high with interesting handsets and compelling mobile OS update in the anvil.
