Motorola seems to be working on the next generation of Moto Z series. We have already seen some leaked images of the Moto Z2 in the past and now press renders of the Moto Z2 Play has surfaced online.
The leaked image was obtained by TechnoBuffalo and shows some interesting design changes. First of all, the device looks a tad similar to the recently-launched Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5, and you get the same oval-shaped home button, which also acts as a fingerprint sensor and the report highlights that it can perform different gestures as well, something similar to what we have seen in the Moto G5 series. The device follows the sleek design, which we have seen in the Moto Z series along with the Cyclops camera hump at the rear panel.
At the base of the back panel, there are the magnetic pins through which different MotoMods can be attached. The front sports a near bezel-less display along with front-facing flash, earpiece and secondary camera and the usual array of sensors. At the right, there are volume controls and just beneath it, you will find power on/off button.
The device shows June 8, which could mean that the smartphone will be launching on the said date. However, previous models were launched somewhere near August last year, so this could also mean that the latest smartphone could be unveiled sooner.
However, there is no information about the specification and features of the upcoming device. Earlier, Moto Z2 or Moto 2 Force was leaked online as well. The latest renders of the Moto Z2 show many noticeable additions of the upcoming device. To start with, the back of the device sports a dual0-camera setup along with LED flash, which is a welcome move. Motorola seems to be lagging behind in the camera department and with this one could hope that the company would surely be back in the game.
At the front, one would notice a front-facing flash along with earpiece and front shooter, at the base, there is a fingerprint sensor, which might come with different gesture support. The right houses the power on/off and volume buttons. Moving again at the back, at the base there is a magnetic connector, which would be used to connect the MotoMods.
Interestingly, the device looks slimmer than its predecessor and has a Lenovo branding at the bottom right edge. Given the thin design language, we hope to see a USB Type-C port at the base. However, there is not much of an information available on the next generation of Moto Z smartphones, expect for the fact that it comes loaded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor and we might also see some new interesting MotoMods as well.
