Moto Z, Moto Z Force may be launched in India this Sept

They phones have 16 pins on their back panel using which you can attach a JBL module for better sound output, a battery module or a projector or change the shells.

As expected, Motorola has announced its new flagship smartphone called Moto Z. At the Lenovo Tech World conference in San Francisco, USA, Motorola yesterday unveiled Moto Z and Moto Z Force smartphones.

Both the phones come with LG G5 like modular concept. They have 16 pins on their back panel using which you can attach three types of modules – a JBL module for better sound output, a battery module or a projector called as Moto Insta-Share Projecto. There are also Style Shells made of premium materials like real wood and leather, or a patterned fabric.

The Moto Z is made of military aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel. This 5.2 mm thin has a 5.5 inch screen that has Quad (2560×1440 pixels) resolution. It is powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 RAM. A 2600 battery and a 13 rear camera that has F1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization and laser auto focus.

The phone has been launched in 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage versions and it also offers a 2 TB micro SD card slot. The Moto Z has a water repelling coating. Besides, it has and fingerprint sensor. A 5 megapixel camera is in its front with wide angle lens. A flash light is also in the front for low light selfies. The Moto Z also comes with Turbo Power technology that claims to offer 8 hours of back up in just 15 minutes of charging and overall 30 hours of battery back up with full charge.

On the other hand, the Motorola Moto Z Force has a bigger 3500 mAh battery and a better 21 megapixel rear camera. Other than that there is no difference between the models. The Moto Z Force has the second generation Moto ShatterShield technology, guaranteeing the display won’t crack or shatter in case of a drop. The Moto Z Force’s battery claims to offer 40 hours of back up with full charge and due to its TurboPower technology it claims to offer 15 hours of talktime in just 15 minutes of charging.

Moto Z will be available worldwide beginning in September along with Moto Mods. However, no specific dates for the Indian market have been announced yet nor there is any word about the global roll out of Moto Z Force. Both the phones will be available in the USA this summer itself.

Motorola has also announced under which it is encouraging small developers and enterprises to build ecosystem that maximizes innovation and redefines the future of mobile.

“The Lenovo Capital and Incubator Group (LCIG) will be setting aside seed equity funding to spur innovation on the Moto Mods platform. In addition, the LCIG has set aside $1,000,000 in equity funding for the individual or company that creates the best Moto Mods prototype by March 31, 2017,” Motorola said in a press statement.
