After rolling Oreo update in December last year, Motorola has now started rolling out a stable Android 8.1 Oreo update for its Android One Moto X4 smartphone. The update has been released as an over the air update for the Moto X4.
According to a Reddit post, the update carries a version number OPW28.46-3 and it is a minor OS upgrade over the 8.0. It includes the March security update along with some changes like updated power menu as well as light and dark themes based on the wallpaper. To recall, the Moto X4 comes in an Android One version as well as a standard version. Only the standard version has been launched in India. Now since the Android One version has received the Oreo 8.1 update, the standard version is also expected to receive the same soon.
The Android One Moto X4 works with Google’s Project Fi wireless carrier. Google introduced Project Fi in 2015 and it basically uses a combination of wireless and cellular networks to place calls and texts. The technology uses T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular networks in the US.
Lenovo-owned Motorola launched its Moto X4 smartphone in India in November this year starting at Rs 20,999. Later a 6GB variant was also launched in India for Rs 24,999. Moto X4 received Android Oreo update in India last year.
