Motorola recently announced the launch of its G6 series smartphones that include Moto G6, G6 Play and G6 Plus. Alongside, the company also revealed the E5, E5 Play and E5 Plus. Now here’s some bad news for people looking out to buy the new series of Moto smartphones. Motorola has reportedly announced that the Moto G6 series will get one major Android update while the Moto E5 series is not guaranteed any major update.
The new Motorola phones already run on Stock Android with useful software features. However, after the company’s announcement, the phones will have a poor software support. As per the report of Ars Technica, Motorola has promised only Android P update for the Moto G6 series while the Moto E5 series may not get any Android update at all. Both the Moto G6 and Moto E5 series smartphones will also not get any monthly security updates as they will only receive the update in every 60 to 90 days.
Motorola was once known for quick software updates for its smartphones. But its Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5S Plus have still not received the Android update keeping in mind that the Android Oreo was launched last year in August i.e around eight months back.
