Motorola will release the second generation Moto E with 3G connectivity in India on March 10 for Rs 6,999. However, the Lenovo owned company has not said anything about the LTE version of Moto E (2nd Gen). The current version of Moto E is available for Rs 5,999.
The 2nd Gen Moto E was announced a couple of weeks back in two versions – 3G and 4G. The Moto E 2nd Gen offers a 4.5 inch display with 540 x 960 pixels (qHD) resolution, as compared to the 4.3 inch display of its predecessor. The 3G version runs on the 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 quad core Processor while the 4G version has the 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad core CPU. Also the new model has much better 8 GB inbuilt storage against 4 GB of the earlier Moto E model. However, the new model has 1 GB RAM and a 32 GB micro SD card slot as the older one.
The new Moto E has also a water resistant coating. It has GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS for navigation. The handset has been launched in the USA yesterday in Golden Yellow, Turquoise, Blue, Raspberry, Purple, and Red colours.
Like its predecessor, the Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) has a 5 Megapixel primary camera with auto-focus, geo-tagging, panorama, and HDR features and it can record videos at 720p at 30 fps. A big addition comes in the form of a front camera; though of VGA resolution, the additional front camera was highly missed in the earlier Moto E version. However, the new Moto E version still do not offer any flash light for the rear camera.
As I said earlier, the new Moto E has been launched in 4G and 3G versions (it is not clear whether it has dual SIM or single SIM). Besides, the phone has WiFi, GPS, Radio, and Bluetooth. In view of the better processor and bigger display, Motorola has armed the new Moto E with a bigger 2390 mAh battery compared to the 1980 mAh unit of the Moto E (1st Gen). Motorola has said that it offers 24 hours of talktime on mixed usage.
