Mig33, a mobile social networking platform, has launched a cricket game. In this Cricket game, the objective is to be the best cricket player for your team by scoring the most runs before getting out.
The game is a chat-based cricket card game in which users draw different cards with different cricket outcomes. Players join the game by paying with mig33 credits. Some cards add score while others cause the player to ‘get out’.
If you draw a ‘run’ card, the runs are added to your overall score, but if you draw an ‘out’ card — you could even go out for a duck!
To make the game even more interesting, there is also a 3rd Umpire card which exempts a player from going out the following time they draw an ‘out’ card during the game. The player who stays in the game longest, and scores the most runs, is declared the winner.
Mohit Gundecha, director of business development and head of India operations says, “There is heightened excitement around cricket. The community plays, exchanges cricket mementos and discusses the game in chat rooms too. ”
migCricket is available to all members of mig33. The game is available to users via a mobile download(m.mig33.com) or web access( www.mig33.com).
In India, mig33 is the most-downloaded free application on Airtel’s App Store. It allows users to form chat communities, share photos, send gifts, play games, post on each others profiles, join groups, create avatars and much more. It is optimized to work on practically any internet enabled mobile phone in India, even low-end handsets.
Company claims that mig33 is used extensively to connect its wide-spread community of Indians to their homeland. For example, many native Gujaratis in Tanzania, Mozambique and South Africa connect with locals in their hometowns in Gujarat via mig33.
