Microsoft has revealed that it is pulling the plug of Cortana from third-party platforms including Android and iOS. The company has revealed that it is killing off its Cortana App from both the platforms from January 31, 2020.
The company has posted this information on its support page. “As part of this evolution, on January 31st, 2020, we’re ending support for the Cortana app on Android and iOS in your market. At that point, the Cortana content you created–such as reminders and lists–will no longer function in the Cortana mobile app or Microsoft Launcher, but can still be accessed through Cortana on Windows,” the company said.
Furthermore, as per a report by The Verge, the digital assistant will no longer available in the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Mexico, China, Spain and India. Furthermore, the app will be available for users in the US for an undetermined time after January 31st. Microsoft has revealed that it is not killing its digital assistant, Cortana will be available on Windows 10 and Microsoft 360 productivity apps. The brand has further revealed that it will roll out an update to the Microsoft Launcher with Cortana removed.
