In a move to address customers’ complaints regarding defective handsets Micromax has started a new initiative wherein a customer who has purchased a new Micromax handset can get it replaced within seven days of purchase.
Vikas Jain, director of business at Micromax, said to The Mobile Indian, “We have started a new initiative wherein a customer who has purchased a new handset from any dealer, and it is not working properly, can get it exchanged for a brand new handset within seven days of purchase without being asked any questions.”
Some of Micromax’s customers with whom The Mobile Indian interacted were of the opinion that the company needs to strengthen its customer support mechanism.
When we shared this feedback with Jain, he said, “Yes, customer services are a bottle neck at some places and with the new initiatives that are in the pipeline we plan to take care of it.”
Jain said that Micromax is planning to improve its customer services with the introduction of appellate authority and nodal officers for taking care of consumer complaints. As of now the company has one toll free number (1860 500 8286) and another regular number (011-44770000) where consumers can get technical help and lodge complaints.
