Micromax launches powerful Funbook tablet for Rs 6,499

The capacitive touchscreen bearing tablet has Android ICS, 1.2 GHz processor and a number of attractive features.

Micromax has announced the launch of its first tablet for just Rs 6,499. Named as Funbook, the tablet comes with a very impressive specification like the latest 4.0 operating system, 1.2 Ghz processor etc.
Micromax Funbook will come with a 17.8 cm (7 inch) capacitive touchscreen with 800×480 pixel resolution and in 16: 9 ratio – more like traditional tablets. According to the handset manufacturer, the display is capable of multi touch inputs and thus supports pinch-to-zoom functionality

It has a Cortex A8 processor, 1.2 Ghz processor, and Dual Mail 400 – 2D/3D graphics processor for multimedia processing. Interestingly, it will have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, making it perhaps the cheapest device to feature the latest Android version. Besides, it will have 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory which can be expanded by upto 32 GB through an external micro SD card.
For data connectivity, it has option for WiFi and connection through a dongle. You will also get a Tata Photon EVDO data card for free with the tablet with 1GB of free data download for two months. The Micromax Funbook tablet is available in slate grey and black colours.

According to Micromax, the tablet can easily play movies and has an HDMI port which will allow users to connect the Funbook to a TV. The Android tablet also supports a number of music and video file formats.
There is a VGA (0.3 megapixel) front facing camera for video chats as well. The Funbook will come preloaded with a number of apps like Documents on the Go, Adobe PDF, Adobe Flash, YouTube, Text Editor, etc.

It will also come with Micromax’s e-learning which will provide study materials for student of class 1 to degree courses. It will have preparatory materials for medical, engineering and MBA.
Micromax Funbook will come with a 2800 mAh battery that according to the company provides five hours of browsing. Besides, it has and gravity sensor for better gaming experience.
