Micromax has launched a new feature phone, called X278, in India. This dual SIM phone comes with a 2.4 inch screen and a VGA camera with support for video recording as well as digital zoom.
The most redeeming feature of this phone is its 1800 mAh battery which is quite huge for a feature phone. To put it in perspective, it is also much bigger than the battery of more than 90 per cent of smartphones sold currently.
However, it seems that company is either very conservative as it claims that the battery gives just 5.5 hours Talk time and 260 hours standby or the phone has very poor battery optimisation tech.
The phone is being sold for Rs 2,000 which is reasonable for a phone with such a big battery. However, we believe that only the battery capacity claim is true and not the claimed talk time.
This bar shaped phone with Alphanumeric keypad also sports a LED torch, micro SD card of upto 16 GB. There is a music player and FM radio as well. For connectivity, the Micromax X278 has GPRS, USB and Bluetooth.
