Micromax, which sometime back launched a laptop-tablet hybrid called Canvas Laptab, hasn’t seemed to have lost hope on tablets. It has now launched another tablet with Android operating system, Canvas Tab P690, for Rs 8,999.
The Micromax Canvas Tab P690 is based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system and is said to be upgradable to Android Lollipop version. Armed with an 8 inch IPS display that has 1280×800 pixels resolution, it comes with a 1.83 GHz Intel quad core Processor and 1 GB RAM. For storage, the tablet offers 8 GB of in-built memory and an expandable storage slot that can hold a 32 GB micro SD card at max.
The Micromax Canvas Tab P690 is powered by a 4000 mAh battery which is just okay for an 8 inch tablet. With this battery, the tablet claims to offer 180 hours of standby or 13.5 hours of 2G talktime. Remember, these figures are obtained in test condition and hence may or may not reflect in real life usage.
The tablet also offers two cameras – a 2 Megapixel fixed focus unit in the front and a 5 megapixel rear auto focus camera. The tablet, which comes in mettalic grey finish, has WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. As per the listing, the Canvas Tab P690 has 3G connectivity and voice call support, but it is not clear whether it has one of two SIM slots.
