Recently, a lot of rumours have come up about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Note 2. According to the reports, the smartphone will be launched on October 25. A lot of rumours have suggested that the smartphone may either come with a dual EDGE display and a dual-camera setup though the dual edge display seems a bit like hype.
In the latest round of leaks, Weibo has revealed a detail set of specifications through the launch presentation slides.. The specification leaks first spotted by PhoneArena which suggested that Mi Note 2 might sport a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display and interestingly Xiaomi is expected to include the Force Touch technology which we first saw in Apple iPhone 6S last year. Further, Mi Note 2 will be the first Android Phone to implement this technology if at all it happens.
Inside, the device is likely to be powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 821 Quad-Core processor and Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. Further, the latest leaks also confirms that Mi Note 2 will come in 2 variants – a 64 GB internal storage with 4GB RAM and a 128GB internal storage with 6GB RAM.
Additionally, it seems that the Mi Note 2 will come with a dual-camera setup with a 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 sensor and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX378 sensor with dual-tone LED Flash, OIS, 4K video recording. At the front, it will come with an 8 Megapixel camera.
To power the device, Xiaomi is expected to fit in a 4100 mAh battery with Quick Charge technology. On top of this, Mi Note 2 will support Mi Pay via NFC. Interestingly, the device will also feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner integrated under the display. The latest slides also reveal that Mi Note 2 might as well feature an iris scanner. For connectivity, it is likely to come with 4G VoLTE , Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4/5 GHz) MU-MIMO, GPS, and USB Type-C port. It will also have Dual SIM (Nano + Nano) capability.
Sadly, the device will still run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top which is a bummer in our opinion. As for the price, after rumours of it being priced at as much as Rs 50,000, the latest presentation slides for the launch event says that the 4GB variant will come at CNY 2,799 which is approx. Rs 27,800 and 6GB variant will come at CNY 2,999 which is approx. Rs 29,800.
