Mi announces Mi3, Redmi 1s and Redmi Note for India

MI (XiaoMi) announced the much awaited Mi3 for Rs 13,999 along with the dual-SIM Redmi 1s for Rs 6,999 and large display flaunting Redmi Note at Rs 9,999.

XiaoMi, China-based handset maker, has formally introduced its three smartphones for the Indian market. Xiaomi steps into Indian market as MI. The three new MI smartphones run the company’s own custom user interface dubbed as MIUI version 5. The 5-inch display bearing MI Mi3 is now available for pre-order from Flipkart till July 21 for an introductory price of Rs 13,999.

MI has also announced two more smartphones, Redmi 1s for Rs 6,999 and Redmi Note at Rs 9,999, but has not revealed their availability.

The Mobile Indian recently reported about the Xiaomi’s plans to introduced the MI Mi3 in India. The Mi3 features a 5-inch IPS display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution, thus offering pixel density of 441 pixels per inch. Powered by quad-core 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 mobile chipset, the Mi3 also bundles 2 GB RAM for overall smooth performance. It has 16 GB on-board storage but has no expandable memory slot.

The Mi3 has a 13 megapixel rear camera comprising of Sony Exmor RS sensor with dual LED flash while in its front lies a 2 megapixel camera. Sporting WiFi, the Mi3 also offers Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, NFC and GPS with as well as GLONASS support. Supporting mini cards, the Mi3 offers support to DC-HSPA+ (42 Mbps) for faster mobile internet experience on the move. MI has packed a massive 3050 mAh battery inside this smartphone.

Redmi 1s

MI’s Redmi 1s is a budget friendly Dual SIM smartphone offering a 4.7-inch IPS display with 1280×720 pixel resolution. This smartphone houses a quad-core 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 mobile paired with 1 GB RAM. By default, the Redmi 1s offers 8 GB built-in storage and comes with memory card slot. The Redmi 1s will run the MIUI based on the 4.3 Jelly Bean version. At the rear, Redmi 1s packs 8 megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and has LED flash. The camera also offers burst mode, auto-focus, zero shutter lag, HDR and real-time filters. In the front, it has a 1.6 megapixel camera for video calling and self portraits.

Other features include Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, WiFi, and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support. MI has added a 2000 mAh battery and offers support for network SIM along with a 2G network SIM. Redmi 1s will be launched in India for Rs 6,999.

Redmi Note has a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1280×720 pixel resolution. Powered by an octa-core 1.7 GHz MediaTek MT6592 mobile chipset, the Redmi Note has 2 GB RAM to ensure the MIUI version based on Android operating system run smoothly. By default, the Redmi Note offers 8 GB on-board storage. The memory slot can support up to 32 GB on-board storage. Redmi Note supports dual SIM configuration and supports one 3G network enabled SIM card. At the back, Redmi Note packs a 13 megapixel camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. In the front is a 5 megapixel camera for taking self portraits and HD videos. MI has partnered with e-commerce major Flipkart for the exclusive sale of the new Mi3 and Xiaomi also has announced two Xiaomi branded Service Centers in Delhi and Bangalore. Apart from that, Xiaomi will also provide service support through the multi-brand service centers in twenty different cities across the country.
