As reported earlier, Meizu has unveiled its new phone, Meizu Pro 5, during an event in Beijing. Meizu Pro 5 comes in two versions – one with 3 GB RAM at 2800 Yuan or approximately Rs 28,950 and another with 4 GB RAM with a price tag of 3100 Yuan ( US$ 490) or approximately Rs 32,026.
Meizu Pro 5 features a 5.7 inch full HD (1920 X 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED Display with 2.5D glass front panel and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by an octa core (quad 2.1GHz + quad 1.5GHz) Samsung Exynos 7420 processor. For graphics it has a Mali T760 GPU.
The 3 GB RAM model offers 32 GB in-built storage and in 4 GB RAM version there is 64 GB of in-built storage. Both of these variants support microSD expansion as well.
Meizu Pro 5 comes with a 21.16 Megapixel autfocus rear camera with dual tone LED flash, Sony IMX230 sensor and f/2.2 aperture. For Selfies, it comes with a 5 megapixel front camera with OmniVision’s OV5670 sensor and f/2.2 aperture. It packs a 3,050 mAh Battery. It runs on Flyme operating system 4.5 based on Android 5.0 which is upgradable to Flyme OS 5.
Meizu has a USB type C port and has mCharge Fast charging technology that claims to charge its 3050 mAh battery from 0-65% in just 30 minutes. On the connectivity front, the Meizu Pro 5 offers WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS, Micro USB port, and Bluetooth.
The Meizu Pro 5 offers 4G LTE connectivity as well, and supports both TD-LTE, FDD-LTE and TD-SCDMA networks. The Meizu Pro 5 measures 156.7 x 78 x 7.5mm and weighs 166 grams.
Color options available for the Meizu Pro 5 are Gray, Silver White, Silver Black, Gold and Rose Gold. It is expected to launch in India in October but its price for the Indian market is not known right now.
