A new version of Meego operating system, Meego V 1.2, is out for the Nokia N900 devices. Nokia N9, which was recently announced by the Finnish handset maker, features a similar operating system.
At the time of N9’s launch, Nokia has assured its users that it will create a new ecosystem and has done the same now.
This version is a community edition of the Meego Operating system and is built on core Meego 1.2 version only.
The community edition is compatible with all N900 devices and a few other ARM based devices as well. Although the prime motive of this release is development of the new Meego platform but users can definitely get to taste the new and improved operating system right away.
It can be downloaded from the link: https://wiki.meego.com/N900
The update is completely optional and is open to all users who wish to try Meego on their N900 device. If the user wishes to remove this upgrade and revert back to the older Maemo OS then that is also possible and the instruction for the same are also available alongside.
