MediaTek today announced that Helio P90 would support Google’s ML Kit, bringing machine learning techniques to mobile developers of all levels of expertise beginning Q1 2019.
MediaTek Helio P90, an AI processing powerhouse withan advanced camera capacity, will deliver applications support to help in making AI a critical and inherent part of the developer toolkit. This news follows MediaTek’s recent statement that supportfor ARCore and Google Lens will be integrated intoHelio P90.
“MediaTek continues to build a strong working relationship with Google to develop technology that is more optimised for mobile devices,” said TL Lee, General Manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communication business unit.
He further added, “With Google’s ML Kit, we are providing the right tools for smartphone users of all levels to apply machine learning to regular programs to get the most of your smartphone and continue bring fresh premium features in the mass market.”
Google’s ML Kit is a portable SDK that delivers Google’s machine learning experience for Android and iOS programs. the ML Kit’s functionality can be implemented in only a couple of lines of code, or even via the conventional APIs for experienced developers.
“Machine Learning is increasingly being used by developers at large to provide value to their users and ML Kit is becoming an essential part of a mobile developer’s toolkit,” said Brahim Elbouchikhi, Google’s Group Product Manager for Android AI and Camera Products.
