Maxx Mobile has quietly introduced two smartphones – AX51 and AX505 DUO. Both these new Maxx devices feature Dual-SIM support, 5 inch display, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system with minimal customisation. Though the features between the AX51 and AX505 DUO are identical, the difference lies in the fact that both SIM cards of AX505 DUO support only EDGE (2G) connectivity. Both smartphones are available for purchase through the official Maxx Mobile website.
Maxx AX51 is a dual SIM smartphone supporting a 3G network SIM in one of the slots and 2G network SIM in another. The AX51 is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz MediaTek MT6572W mobile chipset while the AX505 DUO houses a dual-core 1.2 GHz MediaTek MT6572E mobile chipset.
Both smartphones pack 256 MB RAM and offer 4 GB storage. It seems Maxx Mobile is little late with these models for most phone makers offer 512 MB RAM at least. Both smartphones offer memory card slot to add up to 32 GB micro SD card. Also they come with Bluetooth 2.0 along with WiFi, FM Radio, GPS and bunch of popular apps.
Both models being dual-SIM offer 1700 mAh battery but the AX505 DUO might offer slightly better battery life considering it is a 2G network device. Maxx Mobile has priced both units at Rs 9,999 which is a bit surprising even to us.
These devices will have to battle with some of the prominent models with around similar pricing – Micromax A110 Superfone Canvas 2, Samsung Galaxy S Duos, Karbonn S5 Titanium, Lava XOLO Q800 and others.
