Luxury automotive manufacturer, Maserati has launched the 2018 updated version of its best selling sedan, Ghibli in India. At a starting price of Rs 1.33 Crore (ex-showroom), the Ghibli is available in three variants – Diesel, Diesel GranSport and Diesel GranLusso. This sedan series, which means hot dry south-westerly wind of the Libyan desert, was first unveiled as a 2-seater prototype at the November 1966 Turin Motor Show.
The Ghibli is powered by the 3.0-liter, V6 2987 cc displacement diesel engine that offers 275 HP of power at 4,000 RPM, with maximum torque of 600 Nm (Newton Metre) at 2,000-2,600 RPM. The car is claimed to accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds with the top speed of 250 km/h. It has 8-speed automatic gearbox and air suspension.
In terms of design, the Ghibli sports some dynamically sculpted curves and gracefully owing lines. At the front, the signature grille bears the Maserati symbol, with a Chrome bar surrounding it, which is perfectly integrated into the bumper. Further, aligned with the sharp headlights, LED daytime running lights for an aggressive Maserati presence.
As far as dimensions are concerned, the car measures 4971 mm in length, 1945 mm in width, with a height of 1461 mm and wheelbase of 2998 mm. All the variants come with an electronic power steering with Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) package, which includes Highway Assist (HA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Active Blind Spot Assist (ABSA) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR).
