MapmyIndia has today announced the launch of Rover Bike, a connected IoT device for motorbikes. The Rover Bike is priced at Rs 3,990 and is available for purchase through company’s official website. The product and technical assistance are also available at many bike dealerships and accessory shops across India. The price includes the device and SIM charges.
The Rover Bike is powered by MapmyIndia’s Proprietary maps and location technologies and comes equipped with built-in GPS and Internet connectivity. The company is also offering a free accompanying mobile App (iOS, Android, Windows) with the device, that keeps you connected with the bike. The device is basically a GPS tracker for the bike that can be fitted onto your motorcycle, which let you track your bike through a secure portal 24×7. Users will also get the LIVE locations of their motorbike on a map, down to building-level detail, with directions as well as speed. Moreover, the device will monitor and record your drives as well, along with animated replay of their previous rides.
The device will also provide you safety and security alerts, like over-speeding, geofence breach (leaving from or arriving at a particular location), idling, servicing, pollution or insurance expiry due etc. via the mobile app, emails and SMSes. However, SMSes users will have to buy a suitable plan, additionally. Email Alerts are bundled free with the device.
The users will also get an option to upload their important documents electronically on their app, such as Driving License, Registration Certificate, Insurance Policy and Pollution Certificate etc. The app will be integrated with the device. Furthermore, the users will also get to see the expected time of arrival, along with directions to reach your destination.
