Make My Tunes on Aircel

IMImobile has launched Make My Tunes on Aircel's network in Tamil Nadu and is expected on other operators and in other regions soon.

Make My Tunes is an RBT (ring back tone) service launched by IMImobile, a mobile value added services provider. Christened Dialer Tune – Song Edit, the service can be activated by dialing 5300053 from an Aircel phone in Tamil Nadu and Chennai circles.

The service is unique considering users have the option to listen to an entire song and may also select almost any part of it as their ring back tone. Similar services such as ringtone portals, RBT discovery portals and music on demand could easily be replaced by Make My Tunes. This service is likely to expand to other operators across the country as well.

Vishwanath Alluri, founder and chairman of IMImobile, says, “Make My Tunes service is going to revolutionise and reenergise the user experience by giving a three-in-one advantage of enhanced CRBT (caller ring back tone), mobile radio and music on demand to subscribers.”

The ring back tone market in India is measured at about Rs 2,200 crore, and is growing. IMImobile has extensive experience in delivering ring back tone technology across the world on GSM, CDMA and fixed line networks.

In a similar story, Uninor recently launched an Unlimited Music service in association with a VAS company, Hungama. Unlimited Music is a collection of 250,000 songs that can be accessed at Rs 2.50 per day, Rs 15 per week or Rs 50 for a month. The songs can be downloaded onto the phone by pressing “#.”.
